Beautiful and rustic St. George is located in the southern most part of Utah. This area is known for its warmer winters, but the summertime temperatures can get very hot.

In St. George Utah the maximum daily temperature for July averages about 102"F. It is not unusual for winter temperatures in this desert region to drop below freezing at night, but during the day the temperatures reach about 50"F. The low nighttime temperatures in this area are due to the natural cooling that occurs in low humidity regions.

The vicinity just south of St. George holds the state's record when it reached 118"F on July 4, 2007, and on January 22, 1937 the area reached a record low of –11"F

The average precipitation for the area of St. George Utah is about 8.27 inches annually. Precipitation in this region occurs inadvertently throughout the year, but there is a dry period that runs between late April and June. From mid July through mid September the summer Monsoons from the Gulf of California can bring severe thunderstorms to the area.

Snowfall in the locale of St. George is rare, and it is uncommon for there to be any significant accumulation, but it can happen. On January 5, 1974, a record 10" fell in a single day. The annual average for snowfall is 3.2 inches. Snowfall has been recorded as early as October 29 (in 1971) and as late as April 11 (in 1927).
