Because of its mild climate St. George, Utah is often referred to as "Utah's Dixie." It is home to many outdoor activities. Concerts, plays, theater and music abound here. Many wonderful venues which feature outdoor performances play host to St. George's many fantastic music and theater events.
The Tuacahn Amphitheater and Center for the Arts got its namesake from the surreal red rock canyons that surround it. Tuacahn holds many fantastic events such as the annual Summer Festival of Theatre which draws crowds of 100,000+ to lovely St. George. Located on Convention Center Road in St. George, the Dixie Center hosts a variety of music and performing arts events throughout the year. The St. George Musical Theater features quality family entertainment year round in an intimate setting for a reasonable price. The Southwest Symphony holds seasonal concerts in St. George from the months of October through May. Even Dixie College participates in the hoopla with their Celebrity Concert Series which features music, dance and other performances from October through May. As you can see, St. George is Utah's performance epicenter year round.
