Born to farmer parents in Vermont, Brigham Young led a remarkable life, and is considered a legendary figure in American history. After he became President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1847, he led thousands, and this journey remains among the most famous ever. Known also as 'American Moses', Young settled 300 plus communities, and later became the governor of Deseret, which is today's Utah.

The Brigham Young Winter Home has today been transformed into a museum to pay homage to this amazing man. When you are visiting the Zion National Park in Utah and St. George, do pay a visit to the home. This is where Brigham Young used to live the last few years of his life. The Brigham Young Winter Home is located at 67 West 200 North in St. George, Utah. In the winter, the home opens at 9 in the morning and closes at 5 in the evening. And the summer timings are from 9 to 6, and extend to 7, weather permitting. Admission to the Winter Home is free.

The winter home is a fine place to see how he changed Utah by developing theaters, industries, canals, banks, railways, telegraphs and universities. The exhibits are sure to enlighten you on the life and the work of this great personality.
