Quail Creek State Park

Quail Creek State Park sits beautifully in Utah's mountainous region, providing recreation and excitement that are hard to match. With over a multitude of campgrounds and other activities, the park attracts many guests during the year. In fact, it has become a summer and winter playground for one and all.

Whether summer recreation is the preference or winter sports are a must, Quail Creek State Park has something for everyone. It campgrounds and RV sites fill up very quickly. Its high elevations draw in its fair share of crowds.

Quail Creek supplies superior camping facilities, and places to boat, fish, and even picnic. It is home to over twenty camping sites and an equal number of RV spots. Each site has access to up to date washrooms/showers, two pavilions, barbecuing areas, picnic tables, fresh water for drinking, and a place to clean fish.

Despite its high elevation, the park never closes. Trails are plentiful, whether cycling, hiking or wanting to drive in the backcountry. However, special permits are needed for any backcountry driving or camping.

The swimming there is exceptional. A safe area is marked off for less experienced swimmers and children and a lifeguard is on duty during the warmer months. However, as the winter sets in, the lake begins to freeze and ice fishing takes over from everything else.

Tourists are asked to check in at the local forest ranger station at the entrance to the park. Rangers prefer to give information to incoming people concerning safety, park rules and regulations and other important tips.
