Sand Hollow State Park

Sand Hollow State Park in Utah is a recreation spot that caters to mountain bikers, dune buggy enthusiasts, and other off-roaders. Its recently built reservoir has clear waters that offer a cooling retreat from the nearby campgrounds and picnic tables. In fact, it is fairly underdeveloped so catering for extra supplies is essential.

Located close to Hurricane and St. George, the park and its increasingly popular reservoir and reddish landscape, are fun to look at. Sand Mountain's dunes are perfect for off-roading, or just setting up a tent or parking an RV.

Others come to the park to enjoy its fishing. Bluegill and bass move swiftly through its chilly waters, easy to spot, but not necessarily so easy to catch.

Though overnight camping is permitted during the summer, the main entrance closes from 10pm to 6am daily. The park is easily accessed via Turf Sod Road, with just a short drive to its entranceway.

There is a visitor center where permits for boats, launches and camping are obtainable. Prices for camping start at $9 and go up to $21, depending on the type being done. However, it should be noted that camping amenities are non-existent, and any stay should be carefully catered for.
