Overview

Though not well known for its fishing, there are a few limited opportunities to find fish in the park, primarily in the Virgin River.

Species

When fishing in Zion, expect Speckled Dace, Desert Sucker, Flannelmouth SuckerRainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout and Brown Trout.

Take Note: The Virgin River Spinedance is endangered and protected and cannot be caught.

Season

Fishing is allowed year-round.

Regulations

A valid Utah fishing license is required for all anglers over the age of 15. Licenses are available online and at area retailers.

Locations

The Virgin River is your best bet for fishing in the park and it can be fished from almost any point where you can find access. Just outside of the park, try Kolob Reservoir.
