Tuacahn Amphitheatre

  • Tuacahn is often one of the first theaters to carry post-Broadway productions in the area.
  • Musicals such as The Little Mermaid, Grease, and Tarzan are held during the "Broadway in the Desert" Series.
  • Holidays present the opportunity for themes such as Christmas in the Canyon and other productions relevant to the season.

Overview

Putting a concert venue in a natural amphitheater like the Padre Canyon may seem like a good idea, but implementing that idea is not simple. To the community's delight, Tuacahn was able to successfully place the modern facility among the sandstone cliffs to present an incredible experience.

Large scale musical productions like Cats, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Lion King and others require an expansive stage to be successfully pulled off. Fortunately, Tuacahn has focused on being the premier venue in the area to bring in these types of shows.

In addition to Broadway musicals, the Tuacahn has musical events of all variety. Christmas shows like "Christmas in the Canyon" and others are part of the regular repertoire, as are the ever-popular Halloween-themed shows.

Lest people think the amphitheatre is only focused on national shows, local talent is showcased during the "Saturday Concerts in the Canyon" series, which plays according to season. The Tuacahn Saturday Market is coordinated with the concerts.
