Lava Point Campground

As the most remote of the Zion National Park campgrounds, these six primitive sites look east over the entire park from an elevation of 7,890 ft. The West Rim Trail starts from here, with plenty of other hiking options as well. Bring your own water, or hike down to the nearby spring. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

  • Location: Kolob Terrace Road, 25 miles north of the town of Virgin. 
  • Amenities: 6 primitive sites, pit toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. 
  • Dates: June to October, weather permitting. 
  • Fees: None 
  • Reservations: First-come, first served. 
  • Restrictions: No vehicles over 19 feet permitted on the road.
